PATIENT Q&A
Frequently Asked Questions
We have compiled the most frequently asked questions from patients visiting OSANG Neurosurgery.
Dysautonomia General 4 items
Dysautonomia is a condition in which the balance between the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems is disrupted, causing symptoms such as palpitations, dizziness, indigestion, anxiety, and sleep disorders. It is characterized by multiple symptoms appearing simultaneously without structural abnormalities.
Autonomic nervous function can be restored to normal range through appropriate treatment. At OSANG Neurosurgery, we aim for fundamental improvement of the nervous system environment through a comprehensive approach combining the NPT program, Neural Reset Protocol, and TMS.
We perform objective evaluations of autonomic function including Heart Rate Variability (HRV) analysis, tilt table test, and Valsalva maneuver. A comprehensive diagnosis is made along with symptom pattern analysis.
Receiving "no abnormalities found" on standard tests is a hallmark characteristic of dysautonomia. OSANG Neurosurgery is equipped with specialized autonomic nervous system testing equipment that can diagnose functional abnormalities that conventional tests may miss.
NPT / Neural Reset Protocol 3 items
NPT (Neuro-Plasticity Training) is OSANG Neurosurgery's signature program that utilizes neuroplasticity principles to restore functional balance of the autonomic nervous system through non-invasive treatment. It is conducted with customized protocols tailored to each patient's autonomic status.
The Neural Reset Protocol focuses on resetting overactivated or stuck neural circuits. While NPT is training to enhance neural adaptability, Neural Reset is the concept of initializing faulty neural patterns themselves. Combining both treatments creates a synergistic effect.
It varies depending on the type and duration of symptoms, but we generally recommend 3 to 6 months of treatment with 1-2 visits per week. Many patients notice improvement in sleep or digestion within the first 2-4 weeks.
Symptom-Specific Questions 7 items
In many cases, the cause is sympathetic nervous system overactivation rather than a heart abnormality itself. If cardiac tests show no abnormalities, we recommend getting an autonomic function test.
Along with ear-related issues such as BPPV and vestibular neuritis, orthostatic hypotension and autonomic dysfunction should be checked. At OSANG Neurosurgery, we differentiate causes through tilt table tests and autonomic function tests.
Yes. Anxiety and panic are closely related to autonomic overactivation and hypersensitive brain neural circuit responses. Stabilizing the nervous system environment through TMS, NPT, and Neural Reset is effective in improving anxiety symptoms.
Sleep disorders caused by autonomic imbalance can be improved without medication. We enhance parasympathetic activity and restore sleep rhythms through the NPT program and TMS treatment.
Yes. Gastrointestinal motility is directly regulated by the autonomic nervous system, especially the vagus nerve. When the sympathetic nervous system is overactive, gastric motility decreases, potentially causing indigestion, bloating, and abdominal distension.
Yes. Chronic fatigue and brain fog are related to a complex interplay of autonomic dysfunction, decreased cerebral blood flow, and neuroinflammation. After precise analysis of the cause, we proceed with combined treatment using NPT, TMS, and Neural Reset.
Yes. Autonomic imbalance can affect cerebrovascular constriction and dilation, triggering or worsening headaches. Autonomic evaluation is especially important for tension-type headaches and chronic headaches.
Visit Guide 5 items
The first visit proceeds in the following order: symptom questionnaire, autonomic function test (HRV, etc.), doctor consultation, and personalized treatment plan. The entire process takes approximately 60-90 minutes.
Some tests and consultations are covered by national health insurance, while specialized treatments such as NPT, TMS, and Neural Reset are non-covered services. For exact costs, please refer to our non-covered services page or ask during your consultation.
Bringing a list of current medications and previous test results would be helpful. No special fasting is required; just come in comfortable clothing.
You can make consultations and appointments through our KakaoTalk channel (@OSANG Neurosurgery). Phone reservations are also available. Please let us know your preferred date and a brief description of your symptoms for proper scheduling.
Yes, you can continue treatments at another facility alongside ours. Please let us know your current medications and treatment history so we can create a safe treatment plan without conflicts.
